The Max Rubner-Institut (Location Kiel) (www.mri.bund.de) invites you to participate in the 1st Kiel Food Science Symposium
and to submit abstracts for presentations.

The symposium will start at 1:00 pm on May 18, 2010 and ends at 1:00 pm on May 19, 2010.
 
Aim of the symposium:

•   to offer a scientific platform for representatives from academia, industry, food authorities and policy,
•   to stimulate the presentation of up-to-date research activities,
•   to obtain information on new developments and
•   to exchange views with colleagues from many countries on scientific progress and applications.

 
Topics of the symposium:

•   Functional Food (first day)
•   Food Safety (second day)

         with a focus on milk and seafood.

Dr. J.B. Luten, Norwegian Institute of Food, Fisheries and Aquaculture Research, NO: marine functional food

Prof. R. Stephan, University of Zürich, CH: Cronobacter sakazakii pathogens

Dr. K. Neuhaus, Technical University of Munich, DE: ecology of food-borne pathogens
