Pozvánka: konference “Latest Developments in EU Risk Regulation: REACH, Nanotech & Pharmaceuticals”, 22. 3. 2010
On the occasion of the launch of our latest publication, the “European Journal of Risk Regulation” (EJRR), I would like to inform you about our first conference devoted to this emerging area of EU law.
The following topics are on the agenda:
- Towards a new Role for EMA in Pharmacovigilance?
- REACH – State of Play
- EFSA’s Contribution to the Risk Analysis Process
- Regulating Nanomaterials in EU Law
- Risk-based vs Hazard-based Regulations in Europe
- Past Pesticides Litigations before the European Courts: Pickets for the Future?
Scheduled for a half day this event will allow participants to gain a full perspective of the latest developments in the regulation of the above listed areas. By focusing on these institutional, procedural and substantive aspects of EU risk regulation, it will promote a needed dialogue between risk assessors and risk managers involved in these contentious and continuously evolving areas, and between those and the wider civil society.
Amongst our speakers – all of them leading practitioners and key institutional players in EU risk regulation – we count Minna Heikkilä, Head of Legal Affairs at the European Chemicals Agency (ECHA), Vincenzo Salvatore, Head of Legal Service at the European Medicines Agency (EMA), Dirk Detken, Head of Legal Service at the European Food Safety Authority (EFSA), and Michael Knowles from The Coca-Cola Company.
