The CIAA Congress will be held on 18 and 19 November 2010 at The Square Congress Centre in Brussels. The theme for this year’s event is:

People, Planet & Partnership
Challenges and opportunities for a more competitive industry
The Congress will comprise of three panel sessions over the course of two half-days and will address the following topics:
- Food for the future;
- Health and wellbeing; and
- Planet and environmental sustainability.
The event will conclude with a wrap-up session on day 2 focusing on trust and partnership.
This year, we are delighted to confirm the line-up of four European Commissioners at the event – a first for the CIAA Congress. These include:
- Commissioner Antonio Tajani, Vice-President of the European Commission (Industry and Entrepreneurship);
- Commissioner John Dalli (Health and Consumer Policy);
- Commissioner Máire Geoghegan-Quinn (Research, Innovation and Science); and
- Commissioner Janez Potočnik (Environment).

This year, the CIAA Congress will once again be complemented by a colourful industry exhibition space, complete with ten interesting examples of some of the exciting activities of the agri-food industry and its partners synonymous with this year’s Congress theme, ‘People, Planet and Partnership’. Members are also advised to book their travel and hotel arrangements as soon as possible since November promises to be a busy period in central Brussels due to several Belgian Presidency events in the Capital.
In the run up to and post the event, the CIAA will meet with a number of key journalists both from the mainstream and trade press in order to promote the event, maximise the visibility of the EU food and drink industry and CIAA members more generally.
Finally, we look forward to seeing many of you in Brussels in November at the Congress for what promises to be one of the highlight’s of 2010 for Europe’s diverse and numerous food and drink manufacturers.
