EU food and drink industry output looses momentum in Q2 of 2010
Food and drink industry output lost momentum during the second quarter of 2010 for both EU 27 and the euro area, registering a decrease of –0.95% and –0.6% respectively, when compared to the previous quarter (Q4 of 2009).
Ireland, Bulgaria and the United Kingdom had the highest output growth, with an important recovery for Ireland of +3.87% compared to the previous quarter. Food and drink industry output in Poland, Czech Republic and Portugal fell sharply, reflecting the persistent lack of recovery in industrial orders.
