Pozvánka: konference "Food Flavourings in the EU. Recent regulatory and scientific developments and future perspectives.", 15. 2. 2011

I am pleased to inform you that NFI – Nutrition Foundation of Italy is organizing the International Conference "Food Flavourings in the European Union. Recent regulatory and scientific developments and future perspectives”.

The Conference will take place in Milan (Italy) at the State University, on Tuesday, February 15, 2011.

It is foressen that, by the end of 2010, the European Commission adopts the “E.U. list of flavouring substances”. Such a list, that will include more than 2000 flavouring substances, will be one of the main results of the work carried out by the European Commission and EFSA in implementing the flavouring evaluation programme, adopted in the year 2000.

Since next year (2011), new flavouring substances will be regulated under the EC Regulation No 1334/2008 on “flavourings and certain food ingredients with flavouring properties for use in and on foods” and that No 1331/2008 “establishing a common authorisation procedure for food flavourings”, following the recent EFSA’s “Guidance document on the data required for the risk assessment of flavourings to be used in or on foods”.

Goals of the Conference  are: i) to make an appraisal of major regulatory and scientific developments and ii) to evaluate main benefits expected for food companies.

To reach these goals, NFI has invited some recognized European experts who have given major contributions to such a process .
