The NutrEvent 2011 Steering Committee (SC) is very glad to present the 2011 NutriConference program.
Entitled “Innovate from A to Z”, the NutriConference program aims at telling the story of the innovation process from R&D to the arrival of the product on the market. The program is thus in line with the NutrEvent’s broader goal to promote and stimulate innovation at the European scale in the field of Nutrition & Health.
The two tracks present the different stages of the innovation process:
- Track One: “Breakthroughs and Discoveries from the bench”: this top level scientific track will introduce all the key stages of the beginning of the innovation process (sourcing, extraction, pre-clinical and clinical validation,…) illustrated with examples taken from two major health area: “Gut Health & Immune System” and “Cardiovascular diseases and Weight Management.”
- Track Two “Market trends and Regulatory framework”: this track will be more dedicated to the continuation of the innovation process, dealing with the analysis of the product’s arrival on the market. Those conferences will thus mainly deal with two important areas: market trends (the 2011 main trends based on consumers’ analysis of behaviours and perceptions) and regulatory framework (latest evolutions in EFSA’s policy and decisions as well as strategies to develop your product with or without claims).

- The European NutrEvent Award of the R&D collaborative project of the Year : it will reward one / several successful partnership(s) that have led to an innovation in the field of Nutrition & Health
- The European NutrEvent Award of the Innovative Start-up of the Year : it will reward one / several emerging company/ies that successfully developed an innovation
Those Prices will be offered to French and/or International project leader(s) that will have brought a major innovation in the field of Nutrition & Health in 2011.
The winners will be elected by a Jury composed of several members of the NutrEvent 2011 Steering Committee. The Awards will be offered during a ceremony organized during NutrEvent on June 15, 2011. Why accepting to join the Steering Committee of NutrEvent 2011? And what are your expectations from the event itself?
The Steering Committee is an opportunity to participate to the concept of a unique event. It is also an opportunity to meet specialists of the nutrition-health sector, coming from different worlds. Finally, it is also taking responsibility by helping the Nutrition & Health sector moving forward. I expect a good update on several scientific and regulatory topics, and to meet new business partners.
How do you think this kind of partnering event can help both the academia and the industries to meet their expectations? How can it be useful for the future of the Nutrition & Health sector?
This kind of event is very important to help different people, with different points of view, understand each other much better. The challenges around claims and nutritional regulation in Europe can only be reached by increasing mutual understanding of expectations, needs and limitations. It’s all matter of communication.
