Pozvánka: seminář "Sustainable Industry Forum – Resource Efficiency and Competitiveness", 14. 2. 2011
Save the date: Sustainable Industry Forum – Resource Efficiency and Competitiveness workshop, 14 February 2011
Resource Efficiency is one of the key challenges facing us today, and is a focus of the European Institutions: it is one of the seven flagship initiatives in Europe 2020, and the subject of a Commission Communication due out in Summer 2011.
In this context DG Enterprise has commissioned a study into Resource Efficiency and Competitiveness, and would like to test out the findings with you. This will be your opportunity to feed in to the debate, and to ensure that the impact on industry is taken into account when designing policy. We want to work with you to ensure the long term competitiveness of EU industry, and to minimise any burdens associated with increased resource efficiency.
I am therefore writing to invite you to block the date of 14 February 2011 for a dynamic discussion in Brussels, on how industry and European policymakers can work together to significantly increase resource efficiency without jeopardising the competitiveness of EU companies.
The day will run from 10am to 5pm, and will take place at the European Commission, Centre Albert Borchette, Rue Froissart 36, 1040 Brussels, Belgium.
It will include a presentation of the study and discussion of its findings, and there will also be an opportunity to discuss:
- best practice in resource efficiency: case studies from industry
- the opportunities increasing Resource Efficiency offers while minimising risks
- how policies can incentivise companies to invest in Resource Efficiency
We are pleased to invite you for a sandwich lunch on the day to facilitate peer networking and fruitful exchanges. Unfortunately, due to budget constraints, we are not able to refund travel costs.
A formal invite with more detailed agenda will be sent out after the break, with full details of how to register for the event.
We look forward to seeing you, and in the meantime wish you a restful break and happy new year.
