Pozvánka: konference "International Food Supplements Conference", 8. - 9. 12. 2011
International Food Supplements Conference
There have been many achievements in regulatory harmonisation over the last two decades, in particular since the Food Supplement Directive became effective. But, without a doubt, there is still much to be done before the European Union regulatory framework for food supplements is complete.
Against this background, the German Federation of Food Law and Food Science (BLL) in cooperation with European and global food supplement associations is organising a major conference to bring together the leading regulatory authorities, scientists and industry representatives.
The Regulation of Food Supplements in Europe
How much harmonisation is needed?
The international conference will take place in Berlin on 8-9 December 2011 as a follow-up event to the conference "Food Supplements in Europe: Challenges for the Future" which was held in 2005.
The upcoming conference will once again be a forum for discussion and exchange of ideas and solutions regarding the development of food supplement legislation in the EU. The event will focus in particular on the most heavily discussed issues across Europe:
- Health claims
- Maximum levels of vitamins and minerals
- Botanicals and other substances
It will be a high level meeting with renowned speakers from various areas including Catherine Geslain-Lanéelle (Executive Director, EFSA), Dagmar Roth-Behrendt (Vice President, European Parliament), Basil Mathioudakis (Head of unit, DG Sanco, European Commission), Peter Shotter (President, Merck Consumer Health Care) and Dr. Helmut Tschiersky-Schöneburg (President, Federal Office of Consumer Protection and Food Safety, BVL).
The conference is being organised by BLL in cooperation with the European Responsible Nutrition Alliance (ERNA), the European Federation of Associations of Health Product Manufacturers (EHPM), and the International Alliance of Dietary/Food Supplement Associations (IADSA).
Registration:
The number of participants of the conference is limited to 200 persons. Therefore, those who wish to participate are recommended to express their interest by mailing BLL at berlin-conference@bll.de. You will receive the programme, registration documents and hotel reservation form as soon as they are available.
